The Promise and Perils of Voice Tech in EdTech

Earlier this week, CEO and Founder Dr. Patricia Scanlon joined education innovation thought leader Michael B Horn for a conversation about voice tech in education. Patricia talked about SoapBox Labs’ mission in education and explained:
“You can deliver an AI solution to market whenever you like, but should you? We decided to take the time to deliver a voice solution for kids that’s built right”.
“For us, voice assistants is a narrow use case. Alexa and Siri weren’t designed to do pronunciation assessment for kids, fluency assessments, or comprehension questions, and they can’t be customized. What we’re doing is so much more big picture than voice assistants”
