SoapBox at SXSW EDU 2022
October 15, 2021
Great news! Both of our panels for SXSW EDU 2022 have been accepted. This will be our third year speaking at this wonderful gathering of education professionals and ideas. We look forward to seeing you there. Here’s what’s in store.
Our first panel, Can Speech Recognition Help Children Learn to Read, will see SoapBox CEO Dr. Martyn Farrows joined by Dylan Arena of McGraw Hill Education, Margery Mayer of Audacity Education, and Ralph Smith of the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. This deeply experienced and influential group will discuss the emergence of voice-enabled reading tools for kids, as well as the potential of speech recognition technology to improve learning outcomes for teachers and students.
And at our second panel, What My Kid Taught Me About EdTech During COVID, SoapBox Founder Dr. Patricia Scanlon will be joined by three leading edtech entrepreneurs — Kai-Leé Berke of Noni Educational Solutions, Yolie Flores of Parent Nation, and Karina Linch of BrainPop. This panel will explore how the pandemic changed their perceptions of edtech and what they’re doing to advance the field.
Thanks to everyone who voted for our two panels — we appreciate your support!
SXSW EDU is March 7 – 10, 2022. Exact times and dates for our panels will be announced in the coming weeks, but for now, save the date. We’ll see you there!
