Showcase at ICASSP
May 16, 2019
Today, SoapBox Labs Chief Scientist Qiru Zhou is giving a talk and a demo at ICASSP – the world’s largest and most comprehensive technical conference on signal processing – in Brighton, UK.
Our Director of Speech Technology Dr. Amelia Kelly who is also attending – those would be her red nails on the conference programme above – explains signal processing:
“Signal processing is the branch of maths and science that makes up the basis of speech recognition, deep learning and acoustic modelling”.
It’s where we learn new techniques of mathematically representing and manipulating audio signals, Amelia says.
We’re attending this year’s conference to keep up to date with exciting new research but also to showcase developments in our own speech recognition technology including how our verification service works for English, Spanish, Mandarin and Portuguese languages.
If you’re attending ICASSP drop by and say hello during our 2 hour demo and poster session this afternoon. We’re particularly interested in meeting people who are researching speech recognition, acoustic modelling, deep learning methods, keyword spotting and other interesting areas in speech and acoustics.
